Membership

Overview

The membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June.

Membership comprises of the following classes:

  • Day Hospital Member - Day Hospitals must be stand alone facilities (or, if partially owned by an in-patient hospital, then independently managed), appropriately licensed with the State Health Department and accredited from an approved body consistent with the Commonwealth Legislation of April 2007.  Day Hospital membership confers privleges to all employees, owners and directors of the nominated day hospital.  Each individual day hospital must pay a membership fee (ie, one group operating 3 day hospital facilities must pay 3 membership fees). 

 

  • Affiliate Member - small unaffiliated overnight hospitals. 

 

  • Individual Member - A member who is a natural person engaged in day hospital procedures but cannot be admitted as a Day Hospital Member.

 

  • Industry Member - accepted from persons or companies working within the health environment  not included in any of the above.  A company profile or overview must be supplied with the Application for Membership.

 

  • Life Member - A member who is a natural person who, in the opinion of the Board, has excelled in their service to the day hospital industry and in meritorious achievement in day surgery generally.
